Martin von Haller Groenbaek is a Copenhagen-based lawyer specialised in IT-law. He is a partner and co-founder of Bender von Haller Dragsted, a leading Scandinavian IT-law boutique.
He practices general IT-law with a special interest in IT contracts, eCommerce, SaaS, Open source and open licensing, New media.
Martin has within the last eight years been advising clients on different legal as well as commercial aspects of developing and using open source software. He is considered the leading legal practitioner of open source law in Denmark.
He is the co-founder and currently chairman of board member of the Danish Open Source Vendors Association (OSL). He is member of the Free Software Foundation Europe’s legal network and is on the editorial board of the International Free and Open Source Software Law Review (IFOSSLR). From the establishment of a Danish chapter in 2005, where Martin was a co-founder, he has been public project lead of Creative Commons Denmark.

services providers, in over 100 countries, mentions Martin as “a go-to expert on open source and creative commons” in its The Legal 500 2011: Europe, Middle East & Africa edition .
Martin has among his clients leading Danish open source software company such as Umbraco and Composite. He has adviced a number of large Danish and international companies on open source strategy and licensing.
From the subdomain LexLinux under his VONHALLER portal Martin and and others who care has an outlet for news, thoughts, ideas and experiences related open source. The emphasis will be on legal issues and commercial or strategic issues alike. Ideological or religious rants on open source is referred to other fora.
