On 24 November 2011 it was announced that Sproom ApS, a Danish invoice portal designed to give businesses and organisations an easy, user-friendly and inexpensive way to send-and-receive electronic invoices and orders, had received DKK 3m in funding from Accelerace Invest K/S. Accelerace Invest is a Danish limited partnership that has among its limited partners Vækstfonden. Accelerace Invest K/S, in contrast to its name, does not invest in equity of its portfolio companies but offers financial loans at attractive terms for selected companies that have completed the Accelerace programme. The loans are targeted-proof–of-business, breakeven, etc., which can bring the funded company closer to a large investment round.

Sproom is a portal that gives companies one site shopping for exchanging electronic business documents such as orders, invoices, reminders, etc. Just as its Danish and much more visible and more international competitor, Tradeshift, Sproom’s mission is to revolutionise e-commerce and create a global business network that eliminates barriers to send and receive business data electronically.

Sproom was founded by Steen Haustrup, the current CEO, and has as a seed investor, the Danish VC firm Seed Capital.
